Senior Director, Data Center Low-Voltage Vendor Management

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking an exceptional leader to join their Data Center Infrastructure Delivery team as the Senior Director of Low-Voltage Vendor Management. Responsibilities

Set the vision and strategy for Low-Voltage Vendor Management, aligning it with Oracle's overall data center objectives
Develop and implement best-in-class vendor management practices, processes, and performance metrics
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and vendor partnership
Lead and inspire a talented team of vendor management professionals, providing mentorship and growth opportunities
Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent, ensuring a diverse and skilled workforce
Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development
Communicate and collaborate effectively with executive leadership, providing updates on vendor-related initiatives
Present vendor performance insights, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior management
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key low-voltage vendors, ensuring long-term partnerships
Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, defining service-level agreements and performance expectations
Regularly assess vendor performance, conduct business reviews, and drive continuous improvement
Implement robust processes for vendor qualification, selection, and onboarding, ensuring a streamlined approach
Optimize material management and logistics processes related to low-voltage installations
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to low-voltage vendors, ensuring project continuity
Manage and approve change orders, considering their impact on cost, schedule, and performance
Collaborate with global data center teams to align vendor management practices and standards
Coordinate vendor activities across multiple data center sites, ensuring consistency and knowledge sharing
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage systems and vendor engagement
Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance vendor performance and overall data center efficiency
Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and operational requirements
Manage contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and vendor performance evaluations

Required

15+ years of progressive experience in vendor management, program/project management, or a related field, with a strong focus on people leadership
Proven track record in managing and leading vendor relationships, preferably in the data center, construction, or infrastructure industry
Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities, translating strategies into actionable plans
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, effectively engaging with C-level executives and vendors
Proficiency in performance management, including KPI development and vendor evaluation
Knowledge of low-voltage systems, data center operations, and construction processes is highly desirable
Experience in process improvement, change management, and operational excellence initiatives
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred
Professional certifications in project/program management or vendor management are advantageous

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
