Supplier Quality Engineer
MAT Friction is a global leader in suspension systems products, seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure that all suppliers meet required quality standards. The role involves evaluating supplier processes, conducting audits, and driving corrective actions to maintain quality in the supply chain.

Responsibilities
As part of the Quality team, will assist Ride Control LLC Plants
Analyzes and completes Supplier Risk assessments
Conducts on-site and virtual Supplier audits and works with suppliers to develop corrective actions, with follow-up, and completes validation analysis
Proactively works with the various Ride Control LLC Operations in reviewing supplier quality and delivery performance issues
Determine potential risks on various components and ways to mitigate any disruptions to the manufacturing facilities
Ensures Action Plans are developed and monitored for risk-based suppliers
Supports Run @ Rates and PPAP activities where necessary
Completes weekly/monthly Executive Reports for Quality, Operations, and Purchasing
Publish quarterly supplier scorecards
Qualification
Required
Five (5) years of Supplier Quality experience in automotive components
Experience in IATF Internal Auditing (certification required)
Experience in PPAP process from award of program to sop (start of production)
Experience in Capacity Study / Run@Rate
Experience in Control Plan Process Walk/Review
Six Sigma Experience – Green Belt Minimum
Experience in Supplier Risk Assessments
Experience in Sourcing / Resourcing Activity
Engineering and technical competence are required
Managing 3rd party sorting activity
Ability to work with minimum supervision is necessary
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, SharePoint, ERP systems (CMS/Epicor/IQMS)
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and organizational skills
A demonstrated ability to use initiative, strong business acumen, and proven ability to think critically
Domestic and international travel is mandatory up to 60%, and you must have a valid passport and driver's license
Can manage activities in a fast-paced environment
Proven automotive experience in metals, stampings, rubber, plastic injection, forging, machining, sintered metals, and springs
Fluency in one or more languages will be a definite asset, but not required; Spanish
A Bachelor's Degree is required
Ability to read blueprints/drawings and specifications, and prepare reports
Knowledge of computer software: TEAMS, MS Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Windchill 3-Leg 5Y root cause analysis, 8D root cause analysis
Preferred
Fluency in Spanish
