Hachette Book Group is seeking an Analyst to join our Sales Analytics team. This position will support the Associate Director of Sales Analytics in developing and executing data-driven insights, providing analytical support for Sales business initiatives and regular reporting on the book marketplace.

Responsibilities

Provide analytical support for Sales business initiatives

Assist in preparing presentations for Sales business initiatives and marketplace updates

Provide regular reporting (weekly, monthly) on the book marketplace, customers, publishing divisions, and top titles for use by Sales, senior management, and publishers

Qualification

Required

1-3 years experience working with data and/or business analytics experience

Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g. v-lookups, complex formulas, pivot tables)

Strong PowerPoint and general presentation creation skills

Ability to translate data into visual displays that identify clear takeaways

Strong written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels within a company

Adaptable with the ability to learn new information systems and integrate them into existing processes

Superb attention to detail

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Strongly preferred: experience building numerical and visual dashboard reports using data visualization software like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc

Familiarity with business intelligence systems (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Tableau, IBM Cognos Analytics, etc.)

Prior experience within publishing, media, or consulting
