Senior Systems Engineering Manager

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Manager to lead the SEIT team for the Prop S-A program in El Segundo, CA. Responsibilities

Leads the execution of the SEIT IPT across cost, schedule and performance using earned value management best practices
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering
Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures, and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives
Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
Manages, develops, and motivates employees and first-level managers

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
5+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering project or team
Product development and systems engineering experience
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Preferred

10+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering project or team
Experience across the entire lifecycle of spacecraft system development
Experience as an earned value Cost Account Manager
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners
Previous management experience
Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust
Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes
Experience in leading, mentoring, and engaging individuals and teams
Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance
Experience leveling-up existing team by hiring high performance talent, growing leaders and helping underperforming members
Experience gaining the trust of a team and provide guidance for their careers
