Emergency Operations Plan Program Manager

Responsibilities
Assist in the oversight of a statewide system for the review, verification, and follow-up of multi-hazard emergency operations plans and safety and security audits for all K-12 districts, charter school districts, and community colleges in Texas
Ensure compliance with state school safety legislation
Assist with ongoing research and development of best practices related to school emergency operation plans
Assist in the oversight of a statewide system of review and verification for the School Safety and Security Registry of Texas
Work collaboratively across divisions, such as the Training and Education, Information Technology, Research and Evaluation, and Youth and Community Initiatives divisions to improve the overall safety and security in educational environments
Qualification
Required
Extensive experience within an organization that serves at the local, state, or federal level
Supervisory experience
Experience in overseeing a statewide system for the review, verification, and follow-up of multi-hazard emergency operations plans
Knowledge of safety and security audits for K-12 districts, charter school districts, and community colleges in Texas
Understanding of state school safety legislation
Experience in research and development of best practices related to school emergency operation plans
Ability to work collaboratively across divisions such as Training and Education, Information Technology, Research and Evaluation, and Youth and Community Initiatives
