Responsibilities
Troubleshoots and resolves network, infrastructure, and connectivity issues, including support for remote sites and Internet connections
Installs, configures, maintains, and monitors servers, routers, switches, and related network hardware to ensure reliability, performance, and redundancy
Provides timely technical support to County employees for hardware, software, network access, and peripheral devices, ensuring satisfactory resolution of issues
Maintains internal and external data communication systems, including email services, Internet connectivity, and secure network access
Proactively evaluates network performance and capacity, anticipating issues related to system growth, hardware changes, or software deployments, and implements corrective actions
Assigns, manages, and documents IP addressing using DHCP and manual configurations, ensuring accurate records and preventing network conflicts
Implements, monitors, and supports network security measures, including antivirus protections, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability mitigation, and security policy enforcement
Performs network vulnerability assessments, basic penetration testing, and risk analysis as assigned
Installs, maintains, updates, and patches application software and operating systems in compliance with licensing and security requirements
Serves as a liaison with Internet Service Providers and technology vendors to coordinate services, resolve outages, and maintain service quality
Supports and troubleshoots printers, scanners, mobile devices, audio/visual systems, and other technology equipment used by County departments
Creates, maintains, and updates technical documentation, issue-resolution records, and user-friendly instructional materials
Assists with information services planning, system improvements, and technology projects as assigned
Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver's License and ability to be insured at standard liability rates
Ability to pass a physical and drug screen administered through a licensed physician
