Responsibilities
Oversee daily financial operations including cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure accurate and timely billing and collections across all practice areas
Maintain evergreen retainer replenishment processes and monitor compliance
Oversee trust accounting and adherence to Colorado and multi-state regulations
Prepare monthly financial statements and leadership reports
Build and maintain dashboards tracking collections, AR aging, trust balances, and attorney performance
Deliver rolling forecasts to support operational and growth decisions
Establish and enforce strong internal financial controls and separation of duties
Coordinate internal and external audits
Identify and mitigate financial risk as the firm expands
Review firm expenses, subscriptions, and vendor contracts
Eliminate waste and improve cost discipline
Ensure integrity of financial data across accounting and practice management systems
Improve workflows to support scale and reduce manual processes
Qualification
Required
7–10+ years of finance or accounting leadership experience
Strong knowledge of law firm billing, trust accounting, and collections
Highly accountable, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
Ability to work in-office Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Preferred
Professional services or law firm experience strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA preferred)
1 year of experience in Law firm accounting or other applicable experience
5+ years of work experience with Trust Accounting
5+ years of accounting experience
5+ years of experience with Quickbooks Online
Experience with cloud-based management tools such as FileVine
