Unit Secretary - Behavioral Health
University of Maryland Medical System is a community-based, integrated, non-profit health system dedicated to improving the health of the community. The Unit Secretary will perform clerical duties on the assigned unit, assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment, and support the patient care team with various patient care activities.

Performs clerical duties on the assigned unit
Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment
Assists the patient care team to provide various patient care activities
Maintains customer service focus essential for smooth unit operation
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Ability to: a) manual finger dexterity with hand-eye coordination, b) basic computer skills and typing, c) convey effective verbal and written communications; d) follow directions; e) organize and manage decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards; f) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts; g) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team; h) respond to emergency situations appropriately
Preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
One (1) year of experience as a medical and/or customer service secretary preferred
