The Jonus Group is representing a highly respected insurance carrier seeking a Senior Complex Claims Adjuster to manage a portfolio of highly complex, litigated claims. This role requires deep technical expertise in policy interpretation and coverage analysis, as well as the management of coverage litigation.

Responsibilities

Independently handle complex and high-exposure claims involving disputed or intricate coverage issues

Perform detailed coverage analysis, including interpretation of policy language, endorsements, exclusions, and conditions

Draft and issue coverage position letters, reservation of rights letters, and denial letters

Manage coverage litigation, including declaratory judgment actions, in coordination with internal leadership and outside coverage counsel

Direct and oversee defense and coverage counsel, including litigation strategy, budgeting, and case evaluation

Evaluate exposure, establish appropriate reserves, and present high-level authority requests

Analyze and address multi-policy, multi-insured, and multi-jurisdictional issues

Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as required

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to claims staff on complex coverage matters

Partner with underwriting, legal, and risk management teams to ensure consistent interpretation of coverage positions

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices
