Tool Repair Technician – 3rd Shift (4 day work week)

Fastco Industries, Inc. is seeking a Tool Repair Technician for their 3rd shift, which plays a critical role in supporting the Cold Heading team. The technician will diagnose and repair tooling and assemblies to ensure machines operate at peak performance, directly impacting production flow and product quality.

Responsibilities

Procurement of tooling using different types of equipment, such as I.D. Grinder, O.D. Grinder, Surface Grinder, Drill Press, Honing Equipment, Lathe Manual, Band Saw

Prioritize tooling needs based on the cold heading production schedule

Inspect finished tooling to ensure quality standards are met

Perform grinding operations

Track tooling throughout the tool room

Read and interpret complex prints for layout and assembly operations

Complete the required paperwork and enter relevant data into the ERP system, PLEX

Participate in all departmental continuous improvement initiatives and duties

Perform additional duties as directed by the Tool Room Supervisor and/or Team Lead

Required

High school diploma or GED

Basic data entry skills

Strong mathematical skills

Effective time management and prioritization skills

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

Experience using different types of measurement equipment, such as micrometers and calipers

Preferred

Experience reading blueprints, troubleshooting, and operating different types of manual equipment, such as Surface Grinder, O.D. Grinder, Lathe, etc
