The Associate Director of Development for University Libraries will execute a personal solicitation program to secure philanthropic support, collaborate on strategic fundraising initiatives, and maintain relationships with major gift prospects.

Responsibilities

Strategically execute a personal solicitation program resulting in philanthropic support by maximizing the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects for gifts at the $50,000 and up level
Secure, on an annual basis, private support at the major gift level ($50K+) and be responsible for the identification of potential major gift prospects for University Libraries who can be cultivated for future support
Work with the Dean, the Senior Director of Development, and the other members of the development, communications and alumni team to develop and execute strategic fundraising initiatives on behalf of University Libraries and the University
Develop, coordinate and execute an annual major gift plan for University Libraries, implementing fundraising activities designed to meet an annual major gift fundraising goal
Establish new relationships resulting in philanthropic investments, maintain existing relationships which may generate new philanthropic investments, and provide prospect/donor-related assessments and feedback for University Libraries and University Advancement
Identify, qualify and sustain a viable portfolio of individual prospects who have a giving capacity of $50,000 or more
Secure gifts and pledges from alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends of FSU
Exhibit and promote a comprehensive understanding of the philanthropic priorities of University Libraries, effectively matching the specific interests of prospects to those needs
Effectively communicate FSU's mission and represent FSU’s culture to external stakeholders
Plan for and initiate direct activities with prospects that are designed to enhance the affiliation between the prospect and the University
Negotiate gift agreements, prepare, and present proposals
Prepare correspondence with prospects and document communications, solicitation activity and gift information in compliance with University Advancement reporting guidelines and FSU’s Gift Acceptance and Counting Policies
Assist in the facilitation of meetings, communications, informational exchanges and project/philanthropic coordination with FSU faculty and academic leadership
Create, inspire, and maintain donor loyalty, interest and enthusiasm through stewardship communication and activities designed to express recognition, appreciation and the impact of their gift(s)
Coordinate with central development colleagues within the Division of University Advancement and other cross-functional team members to identify prospects and develop team solicitation plans for major and principal giving, planned giving, and corporate and foundation relations in coordination with the University Office of Research
Assist in the management of all volunteer boards associated with University Libraries

Required

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
A valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain upon hire and willing to drive
