Credit Analyst - Banking
The Specialists Group LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join the banking team. The role involves evaluating credit data and financial statements to assess creditworthiness, managing credit portfolios, and supporting loan origination processes.

Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive credit analysis by reviewing financial statements, cash flow reports, and other relevant data to evaluate borrower risk
Perform underwriting procedures to determine loan eligibility and appropriate terms based on quantitative research and risk assessment
Collect and analyze data related to borrower financial health, market conditions, and industry trends to support sound lending decisions
Prepare detailed financial reports, including forecasts, risk assessments, and credit memos for review by senior management
Utilize financial software and modeling tools to simulate various scenarios and assess potential impacts on portfolio performance
Monitor existing credit portfolios for signs of risk or fraud, implementing preventive measures as needed
Assist in loan processing and origination activities, ensuring compliance with banking regulations and internal policies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as portfolio management, fraud prevention, and tax specialists to optimize credit strategies
Stay current on industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial analysis and risk management
Qualification
Required
3+ years of Credit Analyst background in banking environment seeking upward mobility or a 7+ years of CA experience with no loan officer aspirations
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred. Previous experience as Credit Analyst will be considered
Strong understanding of financial concepts including accounting principles, financial modeling, and cash flow analysis
Proficiency in financial software applications used for data collection, analysis, and reporting
Excellent quantitative research skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively
Demonstrated expertise in risk analysis, underwriting, loan processing, and portfolio management
Knowledge of banking operations such as mortgage servicing, loan origination, fraud detection, and technical accounting practices
Ability to write clear and concise financial reports while presenting findings confidently
Strong mathematical skills coupled with a solid understanding of financial services industry standards
Familiarity with forecasting techniques, tax considerations related to lending activities, and quantitative analysis methods
