Purchasing Assistant

Responsibilities

Assist the inventory and procurement department
Manage the open purchase order report with a heavy focus on expediting
Resolve pricing discrepancies and other issues as needed
Monitor stock outs and make recommendations for changes in stocking levels
Communicate with the field on purchase order issues, extended lead times, and critical customer requirements
Monitor supplier performance and respond to the daily needs of customers
Assist with projects as desired

Required

3-5 years experience in purchasing
QuickBooks experience Purchasing experience
General Industrial Supply and product experience
Computer literate, preferably Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work closely with others in a team environment, good interpersonal skills
Adaptable to change; must be willing to make necessary adjustments to meet department workload and deadlines
Education: High School Diploma or GED
