Legal Case Manager (Personal Injury)

Abacus Analytics supports personal injury law firms with litigation-focused healthcare finance analysis and expert witness support. They are hiring a Legal Case Manager to manage a portfolio of active matters, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and ensure case files are complete and organized.

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact for law firms via phone and email
Provide status updates and respond to questions regarding case progress and outstanding needs
Communicate clearly and professionally with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other stakeholders
Request, obtain, and organize case documents (medical bills, medical records, itemizations, EOBs/insurance documentation, liens/LOP-related billing when applicable)
Review incoming records for completeness, readability, and missing pages; follow up to correct gaps
Maintain a clean, well-organized file structure so the team is always working from the most accurate information
Track action items, due dates, and client requests across multiple active cases
Ensure necessary documentation is received on time to meet internal delivery deadlines
Escalate issues early when timelines are at risk (missing records, delayed responses, urgent deadlines)
Coordinate with internal teams to keep cases moving and prevent rework
Ensure the assigned expert has what they need to complete deliverables accurately and on time

Required

2+ years experience in a role like personal injury case manager, legal case manager, paralegal, legal assistant, or records coordinator
Proven ability to manage high-volume caseloads with deadlines and multiple stakeholders
Strong phone and email communication skills (you're comfortable with outbound follow-ups)
Highly organized and detail-oriented (you notice what's missing and fix it)
Comfortable working in systems (case management software, PDFs, shared drives, spreadsheets)

Preferred

Personal injury exposure (pre-lit or litigation support)
Experience requesting/organizing medical records and medical billing documentation
Familiarity with liens/LOPs, EOBs, or insurance-related documentation (not required—training provided)
