Responsibilities
Scope, define, and deliver specialized data science projects; manage multiple phases from ideation to deployment; ensure timely completion of tasks and deadlines
Apply advanced knowledge in programming, ETL, and modeling methods; demonstrate clean, reusable code and effective documentation
Partner with IT, business, and data management/engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure; provide strategic direction and methodological consultation across the organization
Develop and deliver presentations to all levels, including executives; translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences; demonstrate expert storytelling and written communication skills
Manage specialized model deployments using MLOps techniques; lead testing and improvement of MLOps environments; collaborate with analytics and IT teams for model/rule deployment
Mentor and coach data science team members; review AI/ML modeling, statistical analysis, and data analysis; ensure quality and performance of models; provide constructive feedback
Research and stay updated on emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques in AI/ML
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree required
Experience in P&C insurance
7+ years of modeling and data science work experience required
Lead a team of data scientists dedicated to pricing models within Business Insurance
Define scope, establish measures of success, and apply a data science vision
Execute projects independently, managing both prescribed and ambiguous timelines with urgency
Mentor, coach, and train less experienced team members
Supervise direct reports who are individual contributors
Scope, define, and deliver specialized data science projects
