Responsibilities

Lead the structural engineering design and delivery of major energy projects, from concept and scheme design to detailed design, tender, and construction packages

Oversee the preparation of calculation packages for submission to regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards

Provide technical oversight and review contributions from project engineers and technicians

Promote innovation in design while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to Stantec’s quality assurance processes

Manage and develop graduate engineers, engineers, and technicians within your team

Take ownership of resource planning, ensuring the efficient allocation of team capacity across projects

Contribute to divisional initiatives such as task groups and design innovation

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractors

Support the preparation of fee proposals, bids, and ITTs

Participate in client networking and represent the team at industry events, with a focus on cultivating new opportunities

Qualification

Required

MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering

Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or actively working towards it) with either the IStructE/ ICE

Proven experience in structural design across various sectors, ideally including hydropower and dams

Proficiency in analysis, modelling, and hand calculations

Demonstrated ability to lead teams on projects

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients and inspire team members
