Responsibilities
Develop detailed OSP designs using AutoCAD and GIS tools
Conduct route planning, make-ready analysis, and pole loading calculations
Prepare construction drawings and specifications for aerial, underground, and buried networks
Work with project managers to define scope, budget, and timelines
Coordinate with permitting agencies and utility companies for approvals
Perform field surveys or direct survey teams to validate design feasibility
Review and redline design packages to ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, and client standards
Provide quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle
Interface with construction teams, vendors, and municipalities
Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting and resolving design conflicts
Support junior engineers and designers through training and knowledge sharing
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 3–5 years in OSP engineering or telecom infrastructure design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and related design tools
Strong understanding of fiber optic and copper network design principles
Knowledge of permitting processes and regulatory compliance
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Civil, or Electrical Engineering preferred
