Responsibilities
Lead tasks and manage smaller projects while undertaking safety engineering activities as defined by Project Safety Plans and in compliance with the principles identified in Safety Management Systems (SMS)
Identify and create evidence to support system assurance, using safety assessment techniques to support the traceability of system safety requirements to implementation and operation
Participate in / run hazard identification and risk assessment workshops with customers
Develop safety arguments and safety cases to support assurance and certification activities, including the identification of appropriate evidence to demonstrate that the arguments are reasonable, well-constructed and justified
Undertake safety analysis via application of appropriate regulatory requirements, legislation, tools and techniques
Liaise with system developers, certification bodies, Operators, Operational Engineering, Systems Engineering and Facilities Management as necessary, regarding safety
Qualification
Required
Experience working in safety and risk, ideally within the Air Traffic Management / Aviation market
Safety domain experience preferably in Air Traffic Management, we will also consider experience gained within Defence & Aerospace, Nuclear, Oil & Gas or Rail
Demonstrable experience of the application of safety and risk engineering processes to identify hazards and vulnerabilities, author safety cases and justifications, assess risk and implement controls to reduce risk to an acceptable level
Ability to build effective and strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
To work effectively, professionally and proactively with people, in face-to-face meetings and through interaction by video calls, telephone and email
Attention to detail with an ability to work in a methodical manner and deal with complex situations
Able to communicate across all levels of the company
Articulate with an ability to negotiate, persuade and listen
