Responsibilities
Reads and interprets technical drawings and CAD models
Uses a mixture of CAM Software and/or manual edits to program new and existing parts to optimize tool cutting path
Develops and maintains detailed documentation for setup/inspection/manufacturing procedures for each newly developed components
Provides technical input for manufacturing improvements on difficult to machine components
Validates the NC code generated from the CNC program by monitoring initial production jobs for long-term efficiency and repeatability
Aids in the design of fixtures/work holding for machining parts
Collaborates with Engineering, set-up techs, and machinists on new product introduction / continuous improvement activities
Troubleshoots and resolves programming and machining problems as they arise
Assists Engineering/ Manufacturing / Quoting as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Swiss setup machinist
A minimum of one year's experience as a CNC programmer
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to contractual requirements
Preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Understanding of different manufacturing processes: broaching, thread whirling, turning, milling, drilling, boring, tapping, grooving etc
Understanding of speeds and feeds for different tool types in various materials
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline
