Postdoctoral Fellow - Psychology Department (Clinical) (40 Hour) Office/On-site #260106-6628FL-001
The State of Connecticut is seeking qualified individuals for Post-Doctoral Fellow Psychologist (Clinical) positions at the Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center. The role involves managing a primary caseload of youth, conducting individual, group, and family therapy, and completing comprehensive psychological assessments.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Selects and administers diagnostic tests to patients/clients with psychopathological manifestations
Analyzes results of tests and develops treatment plans
Conducts individual and group psychotherapy, family counseling and community consultations under supervision
Makes recommendations for transfer, discharge and follow up activities
Participates in development, implementation and coordination of new service programs
Conducts psychological research
Writes professional reports
May assist in supervision of psychology interns
Performs related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Graduated from an educational program approved by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists with consent of the Commissioner of Public Health
Possession of a doctorate degree in psychology from a college or university program which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or as otherwise determined by the Board and the Commissioner
Completion of a one (1) year clinical internship
Preferred
Experience providing clinical services to children, adolescents and/or transition-age youth with complex psychiatric profiles and to their families
Experience collaborating with community systems of care
Experience implementing evidence-based practice and working as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team
Experience providing clinical services to a culturally diverse population
Experience utilizing varying testing measures with considerable knowledge and skill in selection, administration, scoring, and evaluating of intelligence achievement, and personality and diagnostic tests for adolescents
