Journeyman Technical Writer

Responsibilities

Assists in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of documents, training materials, guides, proposals, and reports duties with special attention to detail, being organized, and multi-tasking
Interacting with our ongoing customers, team members/Leads, and employees via phone, Skype and email
Handling and receiving incoming and outgoing correspondence
Collaborate with subject matter experts to write, review, and edit all technical documents for external distribution
Provides technical edits to engineering documentation, software documentation, manuals, reports, or any other documents or presentations
Review and edit all documents from technical team members and other contributors for content, organization, accuracy, grammar, consistency, literary quality, and format in accordance with U.S. Cyber Command regulations and professional standards
Utilizes strong writing, editing, and communication skills to analyze and present complex information in a format that is easy to read and understand
Possesses a thorough understanding of the scientific and technical subject matter, documentation content, and requirements
Recommends and develops diagrams, charts and graphs that will help increase the user’s understanding
Explores a broad range of resources including library research, interviews with subject-matter experts, and team meetings to obtain, analyze, and verify information, manages records and files
Provides technical writing and editing assistance across Planning, Programs, and other U.S. Cyber Command divisions to improve overall quality and consistency of deliverable products

Required

The position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph
The position requires 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer
The position requires a bachelor's degree at a minimum or higher from an accredited college or university in English, Business, or related discipline
The position requires a strong attention to detail and organizational skills with excellent writing skills
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Able to perform duties with minimal supervision and some team interaction
The work schedule is a standard schedule with core hours of 7:30am – 4:30pm (M-F)
This position is on the client site (Fort Meade, MD). Remote or telework is not permissible
