The role involves field material sampling and testing, structural design calculations, and reviewing engineering reports while providing exposure to both office and field work.

Responsibilities
Assist with structural design calculations and details, quantity estimates, detailing and drafting
Assist with non-structural design tasks and field inspections
Assist with reviewing required engineering reports and the collection and analysis of data to prepare designs, which will include site visits
Review the contractor’s work as compared to the contract plans and specifications
Prepare daily field reports, measure and calculate quantities, provide potential solutions to construction issues, document activities, and other important work as directed by experienced staff
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, and must have completed their Junior year of college
Ability to complete OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health Training within a reasonable period of time following commencement of employment
Ability to review and understand industry standards, plans, and specifications and recognize deficiencies
Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, clients, contractors, and inspectors regarding specifications and qualification test results
Ability to record project data and complete required field inspection reports and documentation
Requires a valid, clean driver's license and personal vehicle to travel to and within project sites for site inspections
