Responsibilities

Develop manufacturing equipment and fixtures to support early-stage prototype builds and medium to high-volume production, collaborating with equipment integrators on design and manufacturing
Determine and procure necessary equipment for all manufacturing processes, while managing suppliers through specification, design, buyoff, and installation
Characterize and validate new equipment and fixtures for introduction to the production floor
Develop new manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and scalability
Determine layout of production workstations, optimizing for product flow, ergonomics, and overall efficiency
Perform process analysis, including DOE, PFMEA, line balancing, capacity modeling/simulation, and DFM input to the design team for process and yield improvements
Create detailed manufacturing instructions to train technicians and line operators on new processes and equipment

Required

3+ years' experience developing mechanical and/or electromechanical systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Hands-on proficiency with 2D CAD tools for conceptual line design (AutoCAD) and 3D modeling for mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling (SolidWorks or CATIA)
Familiarity with conveyance systems, transducer-based fastening (Atlas Copco preferred), robotics (Fanuc or Kuka preferred), adhesive dispensing, laser welding, or automated functional testing
Demonstrated ability to create technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment
Experience in providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) input
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
