Project Manager Director

Confidential Jobs is seeking an experienced Project Manager Director to lead the successful execution of complex infrastructure projects in the power generation and energy sector. The role involves overseeing EPC project oversight, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary executive liaison to the EPC contractor, holding them accountable for schedule, cost, and contractual performance
Lead contract strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Oversee change order management, claims resolution, and dispute mitigation
Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel on contractual or litigation matters
Drive cross-functional coordination between engineering, procurement, finance, and operations
Supervise construction activities related to schedule, safety, and site performance metrics
Ensure adherence to all contractual milestones, deliverables, and technical guarantees
Develop and implement project governance, including reporting protocols and issue escalation pathways
Provide strategic insight to executive leadership regarding risk exposure and cost recovery
Lead commercial negotiations and safeguard the company’s contractual rights and remedies
Advise on project risk, schedule performance, and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle

Required

10+ years in EPC project leadership within the power generation, WtE, or oil & gas infrastructure sectors
Demonstrated success delivering projects valued at $1B+
Experience with U.S. and international projects is highly valued
Solid understanding of federal and state environmental regulations impacting power or energy infrastructure
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
Deep knowledge of waste-to-energy and/or thermal (coal-fired or natural gas) power plant construction
Familiarity with project planning software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
Strong grasp of financial modeling, cost control, and contract administration
Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and executive audiences
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work with contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies
Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making in high-stakes environments

Preferred

Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering preferred
