Tarsus Accounting is seeking an experienced Government Contractor Senior Accountant to join our growing remote team. In this role, you’ll manage the accounting and financial reporting needs of government-funded and non-profit clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency across all financial activities.

Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of government and non-profit clients, including month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries

Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Maintain general ledgers and ensure all transactions are properly classified according to funding sources and compliance requirements

Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including reporting requirements under FAR, OMB Uniform Guidance, and other grant standards

Assist with annual audits, grant and contract reporting, and budget preparation

Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and SOPs for consistent accuracy and accountability

Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional client service and provide proactive financial insights

Support payroll-related tasks as needed, ensuring integration with the general ledger and grant allocations
