VP, Project Management

Active International is seeking a Vice President of Project Management who will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the company’s project portfolio. Responsibilities

Governance & Process Compliance
Define and maintain standardized project management methodologies
Enforce stage-gates, approval flows, and documentation standards
Conduct periodic audits of project plans and deliverables
Ensure teams follow agency-wide compliance, legal, and quality requirements
Portfolio & Pipeline Management
Maintain a consolidated view of all active and upcoming initiatives
Support prioritization based on strategic value, ROI, and capacity
Monitor portfolio-level dependencies and bottlenecks
Oversee the intake process for new projects or campaigns
Risk Management & Health Monitoring
Identify project risks early and maintain a structured risk register
Monitor project health, including schedule, scope, and stakeholder alignment
Escalate issues and propose mitigation or resolution paths
Conduct post-mortems and implement learnings across teams
Reporting, Analytics & Executive Visibility
Provide ongoing portfolio reports to senior leadership
Standardize dashboards for utilization, pacing, risks, change history, and costs
Ensure data integrity across PM, time-tracking, and operational systems
Own configuration and standards for project management tools
AI Expertise: Using currently available or bespoke AI tools to help business units reduce workload, speed time to insights, save money

Required

10+ years experience in project, program, or portfolio management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or PMO leadership role
Bachelor's degree required; MBA, PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred
Hands-on experience selecting, configuring, and governing project management and time-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Workfront, Asana, or similar)
Demonstrated success establishing enterprise-wide project management frameworks, governance models, stage-gates, and compliance standards
Strong portfolio and pipeline management expertise, including intake, prioritization, capacity planning, and dependency management
Advanced reporting and analytics capabilities, with a track record of delivering clear, actionable dashboards and insights to senior leadership
Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills
Advanced proficiency with enterprise PM platforms including Jira and Asana
Time-tracking, resource management, and utilization systems
Experience with dashboarding tools including Power BI

Preferred

Experience in media, agency, marketing services, or similarly complex, deadline-driven environments preferred
Experience with projects related to maintenance and continuity for ERP finance and HR systems is a plus
Experience with projects related to maintenance and continuity for media stewardship systems and mar tech products is a plus
