The Centers is a new Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center set to open in September 2026, seeking a Vice President of Crisis Services. This role involves providing strategic and operational leadership for crisis services, developing and overseeing various crisis management programs, and ensuring effective collaboration with community leaders and agencies.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the organization's crisis services vision in alignment with strategic and operational goals
Collaborate with the Chair of Psychiatry, CEO, and senior leadership to ensure sustainable clinical and financial performance
Lead the development and integration of performance measures for agency program evaluation and quality assurance activities
Drive innovation in crisis care delivery models, including population health management and coordinated community partnerships
Regularly evaluate crisis management programs and identify areas for improvement, implementing changes to enhance effectiveness
Develop and guide multidisciplinary teams that operate 24/7, providing immediate support and assessment to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises
Oversee operations of Behavioral Health Urgent Care Centers (BHUC), Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), Residential Treatment, and Crisis Receiving Center
Develop and implement protocols for handling various types of behavioral health crises, ensuring staff are trained and equipped to respond effectively
Ensure daily direction and evaluation of employees and participate in hiring, employee counseling, and terminations alongside HR and Executive Leadership
Provide clinical supervision and coordination of crisis programs, ensuring all professional, clinical, and ethical standards are adhered to
Create and maintain a wellness and recovery-oriented environment across Crisis Services using person-centered planning, language, and documentation
Ensure services provided promote wellness and recovery outcomes for individuals in crisis
Monitor program outcomes and support quality improvement initiatives
Develop and implement policies and procedures related to behavioral health crisis services
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and best practices
Prepare and distribute reports and statistical information on crisis management activities
Participate in internal and external audits
Work closely with the Medical Director of Crisis Services and Medical Director of Addiction Services to ensure integrated care delivery
Partner with The Centers senior leadership, community leaders, governmental officials, and other agencies to coordinate crisis services
Facilitate seamless care transitions and ensure continuity of care across the behavioral health continuum
Provide oversight for crisis services budgeting and productivity
Develop and manage departmental budgets and read and interpret financial reports
Represent the organization at community meetings, collaborative initiatives, and professional conferences
Participate in organizational strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives
Contribute to grant writing and program development activities
Other duties as assigned

Required

Master's degree in social work, counseling, nursing, or psychology
Independent license with supervision designation required: LISW-S (Licensed Independent Social Worker - Supervisor), OR LPCC-S (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor - Supervisor), OR RN (Registered Nurse)
Minimum of five years of related work experience in a non-profit, health-related organization
Minimum of three years of supervisory experience
Experience building and guiding multiple teams that operate 24/7
Developed knowledge of mental illness, substance use disorders, and related community resources
Strong clinical intervention and program management abilities
Understanding of trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented care
Demonstrated leadership and management ability in complex healthcare environments
Team building skills; organizational and staff development skills
Strong supervisory skills; ability to delegate effectively
High degree of initiative and independent judgment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhering to strict deadlines
Ability to develop and manage budgets; ability to read and interpret financial reports
Highly effective communication, listening, interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional groups in solving business problems
Ability to develop reports, business correspondence, and policies/procedures
High degree of integrity and business ethics

Understanding of federal, state, and local behavioral health regulations
Computer skills; word processing and spreadsheet software capabilities
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and data management systems
Frequent sitting, standing, and walking within a fast-paced clinical environment
Ability to respond rapidly to behavioral health and medical emergencies
Occasional lifting of patients or equipment up to 25 lbs
Manual dexterity to operate medical and office equipment
Visual and auditory acuity required for clinical assessments and communication
Regular exposure to individuals in acute psychiatric distress and crisis situations
Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call coverage as needed to ensure 24/7 program operations
