Responsibilities
Define and execute IT strategy aligned with company-wide goals
Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and IT initiatives
Manage department budgets, forecasts, and technology roadmaps
Foster strong collaboration across IT, operations, engineering, and external vendors
Oversee SCADA, PLC, IoT, and environmental monitoring systems critical to water quality, feed systems, and fish health
Design and maintain robust, secure, and redundant IT networks across facilities and sites
Develop and lead cybersecurity strategies, including incident response planning and simulation exercises
Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place for all mission-critical systems
Oversee the maintenance and improvement of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, storage)
Manage hardware/software procurement and lifecycle
Lead and mentor a high-performing IT team with a focus on technical cross-training and professional development
Promote digital literacy across departments by providing tools, training, and support
Cultivate a culture of innovation with emerging technologies such as AI, ML, predictive analytics, and automation
Delegate tasks effectively to proper individuals to ensure workload balance and proper job completion
Make employment decisions and/or recommendations such as hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, and pay adjustments

Performs other duties as assigned to support farm operations
Maintain reliable attendance
Actively participate in meetings, training and education
Assist with training other employees and providing backup
Complete other assignments and special projects as requested
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent education, certifications or experience
8+ years of experience in IT, including at least 3 in leadership
Driver License
Experience with industrial control systems like SCADA in a production or environmental setting
Strong grasp of cloud systems, cybersecurity, and physical-digital integration
Self-motivated to identify problems or areas of improvement and to acquire necessary skills
Competency in network design and management; familiarity with Meraki and Fortinet switches and firewall configurations
Proficiency in cybersecurity best practices, risk assessment and problem identification and mitigation
Familiarity with database administration, data flows and pipelines
Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office, high degree of skill in Excel
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience in creating user documentation and training materials
Experience in Teams and SharePoint administration, particularly in optimizing these tools for collaboration in a multi-departmental organization
Perform under strong demands in a fast-paced environment
Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Possess exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
Preferred
Experience with scripting and automation (SQL, Python, PowerShell) a plus
