Responsibilities
Provides support to the Special Olympics Iredell County (SOIC) coordinator
Facilitates participation for all citizens with disabilities within a designated geographic area in the local SOIC programs
Recruits, trains, and oversees volunteers involved in SOIC sports, competitions, and additional programs
Ensures volunteers receive proper training and submits necessary screening documentation to Special Olympics North Carolina
Coordinates the scheduling of facilities for sports events, competitions, and other activities; enforces rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline during events
Upholds the mission and objectives of Special Olympics Incorporated and North Carolina, ensuring adherence to their policies and procedures
Maintains accurate records and submits all required documentation promptly to the appropriate authorities
Operates the activity van for various events as needed
Responds to inquiries received via social media and local communication channels
Manages the SOIC Instagram account
Performs additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED
Six (6) months of experience volunteering or working with Special Olympics
Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license, or any valid driver's license with ability to obtain a North Carolina driver's license within 60 days of establishing a permanent residence in North Carolina
Attend the new coordinator orientation training provided by Special Olympics North Carolina and Annual Leadership Conference within 12 months of hire date
