Responsibilities

Develop and manage LDC Early Works Construction Programs and Strategy regionally supporting Microsoft datacenter development and delivery through site selection, due diligence, constructability review, permitting and early site development
Facilitate the delivery of metro-based/campus early site works and report on project scope, schedule, budget, and progress for LDC Early Works projects
Advance Early Works campus/metro construction programs, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements by conducting routine safety programs, site audits, and performing incident investigations while communicating risk mitigation goals and developing metrics to drive progress
Coordinate with key internal and external counterparts to execute effective constructability review and risk evaluation strategies for new geographies
Preparation of requests for proposals, review and approve vendor scope of work, and monitor vendor performance by ensuring compliance with contracts and prior audit results
Create and apply best practices for driving cost-effective solutions to deliver pad ready sites and monitor the approved project budget while overseeing and implementing project controls
Coordination of internal Microsoft stakeholders and external contractors, vendors, and resources as required for project delivery
Facilitate decision-making to drive solutions, schedules, and manage change as required across all LDC projects in the portfolio
Represent Microsoft in engagement with relevant authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), external stakeholders, and the public to address potential risks and facilitate on-time datacenter delivery
Develop construction prepositioning strategy and policy programs to support future datacenter development

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years related experience OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years related experience OR equivalent experience
12+ years experience working on data center projects
Demonstrated project management experience and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive desired outcomes
10+ years of progressive responsibility in development and delivery of complex capital projects and programs
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with a broad variety of construction means and methods
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cross-functional and positive working relationships with internal and external teams
