Attorney II (Temporary)
The N.C. Department of Information Technology is seeking an Attorney II to provide legal support for the Industrial Commission. This role involves assisting in investigations and proceedings related to Workers' Compensation Fraud, as well as representing the State in related legal matters.

Responsibilities
Provide legal support as provided by G.S. 97-94
Assist the Industrial Commission in conducting investigations and bringing civil or administrative proceedings to collect penalties and restitution from persons who violate the Workers' Compensation Fraud Statute
Provide legal assistance to the Industrial Commission and enable the Commission to enforce the statute as directed by the General Assembly
Assist in representing the State in actions brought pursuant to the North Carolina Tort Claims Act - G.S. 143-291 et seq
Handle additional matters as assigned by their supervisor
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in North Carolina
Experience in civil or administrative law
Knowledge of the Workers' Compensation Fraud Statute
Ability to conduct legal research and analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
