Responsibilities
Set Up and Operate CNC Machines
Read and Interpret Blueprints to understand and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to set up machines accurately and assess geometric tolerances
Set up jobs by loading programs, selecting fixtures, part holders, and tooling to machine parts to specifications
Prepare and operate CNC machines, including; lathes, mills, grinders, waterjets and laser cutters to manufacture parts according to specifications
Monitor Production and continuously monitor the machining process to ensure that parts meet quality standards and specifications
Perform Maintenance by Conducting routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation
Monitor tools and attachments to ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated
Ensure full compliance with the Company’s DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program
Must maintain compliance with safety standards
Maintains a clean work space
Report on all production issues to the lead and manufacturing manager
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as a CNC machinist or operator
Proficiency in reading technical documents and blueprints
Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process
Basic mathematical skills including adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for calculating material fabrication
Must be capable of using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, dial bores, thread gauges, and basic measuring tools
Regular and predictable attendance
Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finishes related to blueprint requirements
Preferred
Vocational training or an apprenticeship in machining
Understanding/familiarity of CNC programming and operations
