Responsibilities
Trains and supervises assigned professional accounting staff
Evaluates performance of subordinates for annual review and merit increase
Reviews trial balances, cash and investment reports, and bank reconciliations
Reviews debt service payment requirements for cash availability and budget appropriations
Maintains chart of accounts in accordance with guidelines promulgated by the State Comptroller's Office
Prepares and/or supervises preparation of financial statements, reports and fiscal analyses and reconciliations
Develops and revises accounting procedures as assigned
Analyzes and recommends budget amendments and transfers as required
Works with internal and external auditors in assigned areas of responsibility
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Supervisory experience in accounting
CPA certification
Experience in evaluating performance of subordinates
Ability to review trial balances, cash and investment reports, and bank reconciliations
Knowledge of debt service payment requirements and budget appropriations
Experience maintaining chart of accounts
Ability to prepare financial statements, reports, and fiscal analyses
Experience developing and revising accounting procedures
Ability to analyze and recommend budget amendments and transfers
Experience working with internal and external auditors
