People Operations Specialist, Shared Services

The People Operations Specialist is responsible for the administration of core People Operations processes, ensuring accurate execution of employee lifecycle transactions and enhancing the crew member experience through effective communication and data management.

Responsibilities
Own the day-to-day administration of employee lifecycle transactions, including onboarding, transfers, job changes, and offboarding
Serve as the first point of contact (Tier 0–1) for crew members and people managers regarding People Operations questions
Support standardization and adoption of shared services processes, ensuring consistent execution across teams and locations
Respond to routine inquiries using documented processes, knowledge articles, and standard procedures
Act as a liaison between crew members, people managers, and the People team to help resolve basic issues
Escalate complex, sensitive, or out-of-scope questions to appropriate subject matter experts
Complete employee data entry, updates, and ongoing maintenance in UKG and related People systems
Perform routine and ad hoc data audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Support manual data entry, data cleanup, and system corrections as needed
Handle sensitive crew member information with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality
Maintain and update operational documentation, workflows, and standard operating procedures
Identify trends in recurring questions or issues and flag opportunities to improve processes, documentation, or self-service resources
Support continuous process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across People Operations
Assist with the implementation of new processes, tools, or system enhancements
Contribute to People Operations and shared services projects
Act like an owner and assist with other projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, HR, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR administration, shared services, or a related role
Experience working in HR systems and managing sensitive data; UKG experience strongly preferred
Experience working in and/or implementing a case management system
Strong attention to detail with a process-oriented mindset
Ability to manage a high volume of transactional work while balancing competing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Customer-focused, collaborative, and solutions-oriented working style
Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and escalate appropriately
10-20% travel is required for meetings, company trainings, and events
Preferred
Project coordination or process improvement experience is a plus
