Product Quality and Process Engineer
Eastman Kodak Company is looking for a Product & Process Engineer to join our Wide Roll Film Manufacturing onsite in Rochester, New York. The role involves product assessment and improvement, technical support for operations, and troubleshooting process problems using Six Sigma methodology.
Responsibilities
Product assessment and improvement of both physical quality and performance opportunities (yield improvements, waste reductions, etc.)
Product development and accreditation of new business opportunities or features
Become process and equipment expert in specific area(s) of Polyester Base Manufacturing
Provide technical support for operations, EHS, and maintenance
Troubleshoot process problems to identify root cause, provide recommendations, and implement preventive measures using Six Sigma methodology as applicable
Work closely with maintenance and operations staff to identify and develop equipment reliability improvements
Understand environmental, health, and safety regulations and apply to product development and equipment upgrades. Participate in process safety reviews
Participate on multidisciplinary teams to achieve divisional goals
Qualification
Required
Ability to interact with teams that include operators, mechanics, chemists, management and other engineers
Willingness to learn and to work hands on as needed
Adaptable to changing conditions and priorities
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Able to work independently and in team environments
Experience with Design of Experiment tools and statistical methods
Demonstrated troubleshooting and root – cause analysis skills
Willingness to learn
Focus on safe work practices and EHS
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
