Responsibilities
Conducting basic laboratory work including pipetting, culturing, and qPCR
Working with automated systems including robotic liquid handlers
Maintaining cell cultures
Assisting with small and large-scale protein expression using bacteria, insect cells, and other types
Participating in journal clubs and data presentation
Performing routine molecular biology techniques such as plasmid and bacmid purification and baculovirus production
Performing protein biochemical analysis
Conducting protein purification (affinity, ion exchange, and size exclusion) and biochemical and biophysical analysis
Analyzing experimental data and assessing quality
Writing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents
Qualification
Required
Current undergraduate senior graduating with or having a BS in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or related field by Spring 2026
Participants graduating in Fall/Winter of 2025 will also be considered but may have a delayed start date
Passion for science and innovation with a strong dedication to continual improvement
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven team environment
Desire and ability to work on multiple projects in parallel
Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and maintain confidentiality
Growth mindset, willingness to be flexible and work in an ever-changing environment
Comfortability with ambiguity
