Responsibilities

Litigation Management – Oversee and manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, and settlement discussions
Managed Care Litigation – Assess potential managed care claims for underpayment or denial of payment by insurance companies and work closely with outside counsel in all phases of such litigation
Corporate Liability Litigation – Oversee and manage all aspects of the defense of the corporate parent and administrative services company in connection with professional liability and insured litigation
Strategic Counsel – Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on litigation risk, dispute resolution, and the impact of litigation on business operations
Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with internal teams such as compliance, operations, and risk management to develop litigation strategies that align with business objectives
External Counsel Management – Manage relationships with outside counsel, ensuring efficient and cost-effective handling of legal matters

Qualification

Required

Law degree with 3 - 5 years' experience in commercial litigation
Must be admitted into the state bar or have in-house counsel license

Experience with the healthcare industry or with medical providers preferred, but not required
