Art (Ceramics)_Residential Faculty

They are seeking a Ceramics Faculty member to teach ceramics courses from beginning to advanced levels, focusing on student engagement and success while contributing to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.

Responsibilities
Supervises and instructs a varied population of students in a learning environment; uses learning-centered strategies to engage students and promote student success; demonstrates innovation in teaching and learning and the scholarship of learning by focusing on student learning, retention, and achievement; incorporates instructional technology and alternative delivery or scheduling techniques
Develops instructional materials and curriculum; develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; assesses and evaluates knowledge of subject matter taught and monitors students’ scholastic records; prepares and grades examinations/projects and other learning activities; participates in division and college assessment and program review processes; maintains ADA-compliant materials
Maintains student support hours to assist and advise students
Collaborates with faculty and engages in the academic life of the college by participating in campus and/or district committees/initiatives
Remains current with new trends and developments in the field through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and workshops; performs other duties as assigned, commensurate to the grade level of the position
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or higher in the teaching field -OR-
Master's degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credit hours
The following disciplines meet the requirements to teach in this field: MFA, Art, Fine Art, Studio Art, Visual Art, Photography, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Media Arts
Preferred
Five (5) or more years of experience teaching ceramics courses at the college level
Experience teaching multiple levels of ceramics courses, from beginning to advanced
Experience supervising and maintaining a ceramics classroom and/or facility
Experience coordinating an art related program, project, art exhibit, competition or event
Experience working collaboratively with fine and performing arts disciplines outside of art; and experience working with and/or leading student clubs and activities outside of the classroom
Demonstrated use of interactive and/or innovative teaching strategies to engage students with diverse learning styles
Commitment to supporting student success through professional development, industry engagement, or career mentoring
