OEM Field Service Technician 1

The OEM Field Service Technician 1 is responsible for inspecting and fixing imperfections in customer equipment, troubleshooting, maintenance, and consulting, while collaborating with peers and customers.

Responsibilities

Perform point-to-point checks to ensure all connections are properly established and functioning
Ensure all electrical connections meet quality and safety standards
Interpret and understand wiring schematics to accurately perform installations and repairs
Utilize wiring schematics for troubleshooting purposes
Inspect wire whiskers for any defects or irregularities to guarantee a perfect product
Address any defects found
Properly terminate wires as per the specifications to ensure safe and reliable operation of equipment
Utilize Excel to manage and track progress, data, and reports related to ongoing projects

Required

Must have a satisfactory background/MVR check
Must pass a pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and/or random drug test
A positive attitude that inspires teamwork and productivity
Technical proficiency in reading wire schematics and basic electrical wiring techniques
Eagerness to learn and the ability to quickly acquire new skills and knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Effective communication skills with the ability to efficiently communicate with the General Forman and team members
Dependable and consistent in fulfilling job responsibilities and completing complex tasks
High school diploma/GED, trade school or technical school certificate or diploma required
1-3 years of electrical experience as a data center maintenance technician
Experience with power distribution system equipment - low and medium (480V-48kV)
Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical hazards
Potential exposure to various conditions, including dirt, heat, fumes, smoke, water, noise, vibration, grease, oil, and dust
Ability and willingness to work occasional overtime as needed
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
May require occasional travel

Preferred

Relevant certification preferred: technician license, NETA 1, OSHA 10
