Responsibilities
Drive identification and implementation of expense-reduction and revenue-enhancement opportunities, including rate optimization and programmatic improvements. (Essential)
Provide strategic consultation on major utility-related initiatives, ensuring business-case alignment, ROI considerations, and functional integration. (Essential)
Serve as a primary point of contact for consultants and service partners, supporting collaborative problem-solving and issue resolution. (Essential)
Support cross-functional assessments of utility-related opportunities and challenges by leveraging consultant and partner expertise. (Essential)
Lead special investigations requiring technical expertise and historical understanding of Sun's utility systems. (Essential)
Support enterprise initiatives by collaborating with internal departments on reporting, training content, and strategic projects. (Essential)
Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures
Design and support the development and execution of enterprise utility strategy focused on optimizing performance across water, sewer, electric, gas, trash, cable, solar, and related programs
Oversee analysis of portfolio-wide utility performance, variances, and trends; partner with senior leadership to recalibrate strategies and deploy targeted performance-improvement initiatives
Partner with Operations, Sustainability, FP&A, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, and other corporate teams to integrate utility insights into annual budgeting, forecasting, pricing strategies, and long-term planning
Guide cross-functional efforts addressing environmental, regulatory, and climate-related utility risks; develop mitigation plans and ensure compliance
Represent utility strategy in executive-level reviews, presenting performance insights, recommended investments, and program outcomes to senior stakeholders
Strengthen relationships with property leadership teams, providing guidance on complex utility issues and opportunities for savings or revenue improvement
Oversee team member selection, development, and performance management, ensuring compliance with policies and fostering professional growth
Guide Utilities & Resources Analysts and other team members in advanced data analysis, system utilization, and strategic program execution

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sustainability, Engineering, Finance, or related field
7 years in utility management, real estate operations, infrastructure-related analysis, or related fields
Must have a valid driver's license
Proven leadership experience overseeing multi-site programs or strategic initiatives
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical, modeling, and reporting skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence senior leadership
Experience with technology, systems, or process-improvement initiatives
Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Preferred
Master's Degree in Business, Sustainability, Engineering, Finance, or related field
