Flight Software and Avionics Systems Engineer
Data Intelligence, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Flight Software and Avionics Systems Engineer to support development and integration activities for the Bell MV-75 tiltrotor aircraft, a cornerstone of the U.S. Army’s Future Vertical Lift program. This role focuses on flight software, hardware integration, and Model-Based Systems Engineering efforts, contributing to next-generation military aviation systems.
Responsibilities
Develop, integrate, and test flight software and embedded systems for next-generation tiltrotor aircraft
Implement and maintain requirements management and traceability tools across multiple system domains
Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools (e.g., Cameo) to design and verify system architectures
Perform software verification and validation in accordance with DO-178 standards
Support hardware/software integration with adherence to DO-254 certification practices
Develop and automate integration and test frameworks using C/C++, Python, and Microsoft Developer Studio
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support avionics design, tactical data link integration, and digital backbone network development
Author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and verification reports
Contribute to continuous improvement of software development, simulation, and testing methodologies across the flight systems lifecycle
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics, and 5+ years of relevant experience; or at least 10 years of direct experience in avionics systems, software, or hardware engineering
Demonstrated experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Cameo
C/C++, Python, and Microsoft Developer Studio
Integration & Test Engineering, including test automation
Software verification methods and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
DO-254 (hardware) and DO-178 (software) compliance frameworks
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Preferred
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Avionic Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design and glass cockpit development
Tactical communications and data link integration
Military aircraft navigation and mission computing systems
Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) and digital backbone architectures
Military sensor and aircraft survivability systems
