Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, student may conduct research in the laboratories and/or clinical setting

Under direct supervision, student may perform data collection and analysis

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required

Must be accepted/enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student

This position is NOT applicable to anyone who has completed all requirements for an undergraduate degree/diploma

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

Ability to distinguish color

Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment

Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds

May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

Preferred

Students with previous research laboratory experience are often preferred
