Responsibilities

Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, manage, and monitor project-specific budgets and financial forecasts. Analyze project-specific financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement
Cost Management and Analysis: Track all project expenses, including labor, materials, and overhead, ensuring accurate cost allocation. Conduct variance analysis, comparing actual costs to the budget and providing commentary on deviations
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, cost reports, and budget status updates for project managers, senior management, and stakeholders. Maintain meticulous financial records for audits
Invoicing and Compliance: Oversee the billing and invoicing process for clients and manage incoming vendor/subcontractor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), and regulatory requirements
Collaboration and Advisory: Work closely with project executive, project management team and senior management to provide project specific financial insights, recommend cost-saving measures, and support decision-making
Monthly Risk Management Support: Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including Estimated Cost at Completion (ECAC), earned value calculations, cost reconciliations, and billing/cost accruals related to projects
All activities will be utilizing Sage Timberline, Procore and MS Access based modules to align with project management standards in the company

Required

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required
Two or more years of experience in project accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis, preferably in a project-based industry such as construction, manufacturing, or engineering
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Timberline) and project management software
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost management techniques
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to interpret complex financial data
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work in a deadline-oriented environment, and be a proactive problem-solver
