Equipment Design and Commissioning Intern

Uberlube, Inc. is a global personal lubricant manufacturer and brand owner seeking an innovative Equipment Design and Commissioning Intern to join their Engineering team. This role will focus on commissioning and validating new production equipment while developing SOPs and troubleshooting issues to ensure efficiency and safety in production processes.

Responsibilities

Commission the existing EasySnap machine – starting off with the manual – develop a plan with the Engineering team to perform the Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ)
Lead packaging trials and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise in production
Develop training materials and SOPs for EasySnap operation
Work with quality and regulatory team to develop the plan and timeline for testing and qualification to commercialize the product
Document detailed packaging specifications and ensure all designs comply with relevant regulatory standards
Provide support for packaging design for commercialization, including working with suppliers to develop and select viable prototypes
Review bottlenecked operations (namely, bottle filling and secondary packing) and develop an automation plan with management:
Bottle Fill line
Drop Bagger and automated labeling
Develop user needs for automated equipment and procure quotations with vendors (already selected to some extent)
Develop training materials and SOPs for EasySnap operation
Document detailed specifications and technical documents to ensure all equipment and plans comply with relevant regulatory standards
Identify and develop a technical solution for a coupon code system that integrates with our current tech stack, including Shopify e-commerce, Bartender Software, and manufacturing labeling equipment
Formally present research findings and project recommendations to Engineering and Operations leadership

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in any Engineering Field. This can include Packaging Science/Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field
Knowledge and/or interest in automation or packaging equipment is preferred
Candidates are expected to be resourceful and investigate solutions and topics with limited organizational expertise
This role will be an integral part of the growth of Uberlube and will have the ability to make a lasting impact
This candidate will need to be a self-starter and confident in decision-making skills
Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical recommendations to senior leadership
U.S. citizenship required; we are unable to provide sponsorship for this position
