Responsibilities
Diagnose, service, and maintain automatic gates, operators, barricades, and barrier arms
Install, program, and repair telephone entry and access control systems
Perform preventive maintenance and field testing on low-voltage systems
Ensure all work complies with UL325 and ASTM F2200 safety standards
Write accurate service tickets, work orders, and cost estimates
Deliver excellent customer service and professional onsite communication
Qualification
Required
3+ years' experience with gate operators or access control systems
Solid understanding of low-voltage wiring and electrical controls
Knowledge of UL325 and ASTM F2200 standards
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Intermediate electrical knowledge
Intermediate technical aptitude (computer skills)
Verbal and written communication skills
Experience in five or more of the following areas: low voltage relay logic, basic electrical theory, knowledge of electrical code requirements, conduit wire installation, welding and metal fabrication, gears, pulleys, chains, hydraulics, construction skills
Ability to obtain secure access cards (TWIC, OSCA, etc) and pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening, and Social Security Number validation
Preferred
Experience with DoorKing, HySecurity, LiftMaster, or FAAC equipment
Technical certifications in access control or gate automation
