Responsibilities

Maintain laboratory inventory, including timely ordering and receipt of required supplies and their proper storage
Maintain a safe clean laboratory-working environment including appropriate equipment maintenance and usage, by conforming to laboratory and Hospital policies and standards
Assist in performing research protocol experimental procedures, under close supervision, including appropriate collection, recording, storage and analysis of data
Prepare, label, store and dispose of reagents and calibrates equipment for research projects
Assist in obtaining educational resources necessary to perform and interpret research and to remain abreast in research area of function
Follow appropriate research policies and procedures including all applicable laws and regulations and maintains scientific integrity including accurate data storage
Responsible for following the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
One year of college training or one year of experience working within a biomedical research laboratory environment
Demonstrated ability to handle and process specimens for testing, including preparation of specimens, operation of laboratory equipment, microscopic examination, etc
Demonstrated ability to accurately collect, store and interpret research data
Excellent attention to detail
Self-disciplined
Proficiency in various lab equipment
Familiarity with lab methodologies and precision measurement
Hands-on experience in a lab setting
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
Good communication skills for documentation and collaboration
Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to respond appropriately in an emergency
Interest in science and staying updated on the latest innovations and research in the field
