Network Specialist 2
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Network Specialist 2 to support the Pennsylvania State Police's Bureau of Communications and Information Services. This role involves the operation, maintenance, and technical support of Mobile Command Posts and related network systems, requiring advanced technical expertise in network operations.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and technical support of Mobile Command Posts, Fixed Command Posts, and Joint Operations Centers
You will independently install and configure all software and hardware related to the set-up and teardown of Mobile Command Posts (MCP) as well as Cisco network equipment, desktop PCs, and laptops
You will also receive, ship, and maintain inventory of materials stored at the work location
This role requires a thorough knowledge of PSP software including RMS/CAD, CLEAN, MDT, GIS, JNET, and VPN Remote Access; and the ability to monitor system resources, resolve system performance issues, and ensure system availability
In addition, you will provide technical assistance to contractors, assist with operations procedures and planning, and review MCP technical manuals and publications
Qualification
Required
One year of experience as a Network Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance
You must obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police and PA Justice Network (JNET) access within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job
You must obtain an active Pennsylvania Class A Commercial Driver's License with both the Air Brake and Type 'O' Restriction lifted within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file
A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
