Responsibilities
The Diagnostic Imaging Technical Specialist provides clinical services in multiple modalities, according to Imaging practice standards, with equal time spent in each modality, based on OU needs, while acting as a resource to Imaging Students and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions
Administers sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures while ensuring the safety of patients
Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent to assist physicians in optimizing the performance and interpretation of examinations
Performs and documents routine quality control testing of equipment, as well as performs/recognizes the need for routine maintenance of imagers/processors to maintain consistent quality images, as evidenced by the physician and exam results
Assists in the development, review, and implementation of policies/procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduate of accredited school/program of radiography
Minimum of one year of imaging experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital/healthcare environment
Must be able to perform in two or more modalities with at least even amount of time spent rotating in each annually based on needs
Mammo Cross Training
ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist upon start
Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within one year of training
American Heart Association BLS within 3 months of hire
