Responsibilities

Develop designs, documentation creation and modification, production support
Contribute to the success of a cross-functional team to develop solutions to production and field-testing problems. This could include initial design, prototyping, and environment testing solutions
Develop and review product designs and analyze development and design requirements
Design of test fixtures, cables, interconnects and associated documentation
Perform tolerance analysis
Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management and customers
Plan and manage tasks effectively
Facilitate documentation and drawings of mechanical designs from inception through release
Specific tasks include enclosure structural design, thermal, vibration, other environmental considerations, design verification, prototype build and production transition to the factory
Develop and implement process definitions, alignments, and streamlining initiatives to minimize administrative burden and enhance operational efficiency in mechanical engineering workflows

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design
Experience collaborating with engineering teams comprised of other mechanical engineers, mechanical drafters, electrical engineers, software engineers and system engineers
Working knowledge of Solidworks, NX Designer, AutoCAD, or similar design tools, and 3D printing
Experience translating requirements into physical design

Preferred

Candidate must be detail oriented and be able to excel in a team environment
Familiar with Collins or Avionics products
Mechanical test equipment design experience in manufacturing environment
