Responsibilities
Managing all accounting mechanics, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, tax filings, and software systems associated therewith
Overseeing the production of periodic financial reports, ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
Managing the budget process, drawing up a budget that allocates expenses in the most auspicious manner
Counseling the Executive Leadership Team on important financial decisions, guiding the organization's financial decisions, and reviewing the work of their employees to make final decisions on budgeting matters
Establishing, refining, and monitoring financial performance metrics
Complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings in accordance with our 501(c)(3) status and state exemptions
Establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
Maintains employee files, company contracts, invoices, receipts, transaction history, and alike
Regularly attends company meetings and events as the organizational representative of the Finance function
Seeks to understand the nature of our business operations, vertical integration, varied product lines, and recommends revenue optimization strategies, long term investment opportunities (and their ROI), and costing / pricing models
Other ad hoc duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
5+ years of diversified finance / accounting experience with progressive responsibility
Relevant degree
Knowledge of multiple location accounting
Experience managing all accounting mechanics, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, tax filings, and software systems
Ability to oversee the production of periodic financial reports in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
Experience managing the budget process and drawing up budgets
Ability to counsel the Executive Leadership Team on important financial decisions
Experience establishing, refining, and monitoring financial performance metrics
Knowledge of compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Experience establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
Ability to maintain employee files, company contracts, invoices, receipts, transaction history, and alike
Strong communication skills to represent the Finance function in company meetings and events
Understanding of business operations, vertical integration, varied product lines, and revenue optimization strategies
Ability to work remotely and manage one's own home office setting, including a reliable, high speed internet connection
